The United States are a top destination for international trade. They are the first investors in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the fourth exporter country. They are also the fourth exporting zone for business in our region.
San Diego and San Francisco initiatives help bring together the PACA region and California as regards health biotechnology (Bio Economy) and marine biotechnology (Blue Economy)
This coming together combines two purposes:
>Raising the profile of the PACA region abroad especially in such a high-potential growth emblematic destination
>Generating a collective dynamics facilitating cross-disciplinary synergy on international prospect (attractiveness, export, economic cooperation, inter-cluster networking, technology partnership and so on)
The San Diego area has a high-potential growth and is consistent with the Major Structuring Programs steered by ARII. It is intended as a priority target that helps release trade flow opportunities.

- Signing Bio Economy and Blue Economy inter-cluster agreements
- Setting up American companies
- Signing technology partnership agreement
- Supporting regional business to enter the U.S. market
- Signing science partnership
The South Alliance initiative gathers several partners: PACA Regional Council, PACA International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eurobiomed, the cluster Pôle Mer Mediterranée, Team Côte d’Azur, an economic development agency, Provence Promotion, SATT Sud Est, the accelerator of technology transfer and Var CCI.
